I am Chris Hook, but with a last name like that, I only ever heard my first name from my family. I am a chef. I am a strength and conditioning coach. I have a deep understanding of food. I can cook anything. What’s my favorite food to cook? It’s a generic, but somehow common question. So, what’s my answer? It’s always the same. “Whatever I’m in the mood for”. I have complete freedom to cook anything I want, and you can gain this same freedom. How are you going to develop this competency? All of the recipes, articles, and videos are here to teach you the big basics and help you build a broad culinary foundation to stand on. You will develop your culinary skill set, so you can cook anything you want.
What else happens when you cook for yourself? You eat healthier food. You save money. You develop a valuable skill, and you will spend more time with the important people in your life. Relationships are strengthened in the kitchen and around the table. Maybe it starts with just one day a week, a family dinner cooked at home. As you get more skilled in the kitchen maybe that becomes a 5 night per week practice.
What is physical strength besides the ability to apply force to overcome gravity? Strength has many different faces. It means different things to each of us. Over time our definition of strength for ourselves and what qualities are important will evolve. I reserve the right to always change my mind. My strength goals change, but I remain consistent in pursuing them. I am not one to jump from one goal to the next. Strength takes patience. Strength is a skill. And, Strength is a lifestyle.
